Meridia
Meridia (sibutramine) can be prescribed to help the patient lose weight. This anti-obesity agent can be available by prescription or without one, depending on where you buy it. If you have recently taken a MAO inhibitor – make sure you do not start taking Meridia. At least 14 days are supposed to pass after the last time you took a MAO inhibitor before you can safely take Meridia. This has to do with the fact you can develop serious side effects if you combine the two medications. Also make sure you tell your doctor if you have any of the following health conditions: liver or kidney disease, seizures, a bleeding disorder, high blood pressure, glaucoma, a history of a stroke, a history of heart attack, depression, or heart disease. Some of these conditions can affect the dose you are prescribed. Any drugs you are taking at the moment are supposed to be reported to your health care provider to make sure you will get maximum benefits from your treatment without any side effects whatsoever. The following drugs are supposed to be reported in case you are using them at the moment or intend to use them in the nearest future: migraine headache medicines, narcotic pain medicines and antidepressants. Report any other medications you are taking at the moment to rule out serious side effects and drug interactions.
